FAQ

Questions about asylum law

How quickly do I need to act against a negative decision by the BAMF?

Immediately. Deadlines for court action in asylum law are very short; depending on the decision, often only one to two weeks from service. In some cases an urgent application must also be filed within the same deadline to prevent deportation.

Send us the complete decision together with the envelope or the date of service.

What happens in revocation proceedings?

The Federal Office examines whether the grounds on which protection was granted still exist. You will be given the opportunity to comment. This statement is often decisive and should be well prepared.

A revocation does not automatically mean that you lose your right of residence. The immigration office decides separately on your residence permit.

How much does an asylum court case cost?

Asylum court proceedings are free of court fees, but lawyer’s fees are incurred. We work on the basis of a fee agreement and tell you the cost of the recommended course of action in the initial consultation, before you instruct us.

What is a subsequent application?

A subsequent application is a new asylum application after a final rejection. It only has a chance of success if the facts or the law have changed or new evidence is available, and it must be filed promptly.

Tell us about your matter.Arrange an initial consultation by email or phone. Please send us the decisions and letters from the authority in advance and tell us about any running deadlines.
